Until recently, the maxillary sinus was of concern to ENT and maxillofacial surgeons only through the pathologies and traumas that affected it. The advent and recognition of oral implantology has led clinicians to focus on what was considered a gaping anatomical obstacle. The posterior maxillary area often has volume insufficiency of alveolar bone that does not allow implant anchoring and positioning under satisfactory conditions. This difficulty prompted precursor implantologists to look for innovative techniques to increase implantation support. The possibilities offered by maxillary sinus lift surgery increase the indications for implant rehabilitation. Nowadays, there are many techniques for raising the sinus floor. This book proposes to explore protocols that are recognized as reliable and reproducible, and to clearly define what literature and scientific bodies endorse and validate. It is aimed at health professionals and students involved in the oro-facial sphere and anxious to find answers to the essential questions concerning this pre-prosthetic treatment of sinus elevation.
